Thank you for taking the time to check out my website. This is a website dedicated to my educational, professional and personal experiences over the past four years. I hope as you examine through exploring the pages that follow you will gain a better understanding of who I am, more so than what I could describe to you in the words that follow. This website holds academic, professional, and personal achievements, but the one intangible element that a website will never cover is my passion and dedication to my craft.
My name is Abdirizak Ahmed, and for the past two years I have been a student in the Community, Environment and Planning, (CEP), program at the University of Washington. I have found that this experience has challenged in ways that broke me down and in the same moment lift me back up to only achieve the impossible. Taking a plethora of design classes I came across a multitude of ways to shape and change the urban landscape. Urban Design and Planning, environmental, and leadership classes, as well as personal travel experiences have contributed to my development all the while searching for what interest me the most. I have realized that my interests lie in visually communicating through design, specifically in studying how marginalized communities can begin to build resiliency to climate change and other devastating issues.
